This itinerary has been very popular for those with only a short time to spend in Cusco who prefer not to hike the trail but go in classic style by train and overnight below the Lost City of the Incas Machupicchu. This includes flights Lima -Cusco –Lima. You can also add on extensions to Lake Titicaca, the Amazon Manu or Puerto Maldonado and or Arequipa. You can get a better idea of the Hotel Marqueses and programs by looking at some photos on the website.
Day 1:- Cusco - City Tour + 4 Ruins
Day 2:- Cusco - Sacred Valley of the Incas
Day 3:- Cusco - Machupicchu
Day 4:- Aguas Calientes - Machupicchu - Cusco
Day 5:- Cusco / Exit
Day 1:- Cusco: City Tour + 4 RuinsAssistance on arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel. Free time to take a short rest to be acclimatized to the altitude. |
Day 2:- Cusco: Sacred Valley of the Incas Excursion to the "Sacred Valley of the Incas", a succession of pictures towns, agricultural terraces and archaeological sites. On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, we’ll have the opportunity to bargain with vendors or stroll at the Pisaq typical Indian market, with a catholic mass service on Sunday (celebrated in Quechua, the native language). |
Day 3:- Cusco – Machu PicchuThe day starts with an early morning rise to transfer to Cusco train station for a four- hour train journey to the famous Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, also known as "The Lost City of the Incas". Arrive at Aguas Calientes station followed by a 30-minute bus drive, climbing 6km of winding road, to the incredible Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we’ll participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows and various burial grounds. After the tour you will have time to stroll around the archaeological site at your leisure. |
Day 4:- Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu - CuscoMorning at leisure in Aguas Calientes to continue visiting the area and Machu Picchu (bus ticket and entrance fees not included). In the afternoon we will take the train back to Cusco. Hotel night |
