This is a fantastic hike that enables you to hike from Cusco across to the Sacred Valley. Even though it would appear to be in a populated area, you soon discover the true wildness of the Andes. This is a fantastic hike and Huchuy Q’osqo (Small Cusco) are an interesting set of ruins that are believed to have been abandoned by the time the Spanish arrived in Peru. Day 1:- Cusco - Tambomachay - Huchuy Q’osqo
Day 2:- Huchuy Q’osqo - Valle Sagrado de los Incas - Cusco
Day 1:- Cusco Tambomachay – Huchuy Q’osqoWe leave Cusco at 8am, and catch a local bus to the interesting ruins of Tambomachay. From here we climb upwards until we have spectacular views over Cusco City. |
Day 2:- Huchuy Q’osqo - Valle Sagrado de los Incas - Cusco In the morning we explore the ruins of Huchuy Cusco and ponder its role as "Small Cusco". From here it is three and a half hours stunning descent into the Sacred Valley. We will have a late lunch in the typical and un tourist village of Lamay before returning to Cusco by local bus. If we have time, and the group wishes, we could stop at the Pisaq market for some souvenir shopping. |
