The Q'eros are still the guardians of an extremely rich Inka cultural tradition.
The Q'eros are a Quechua-speaking people who live in five large tribes (30 to 35 houses each) and several small clustered villages in the mountains of south-central Perù at altitudes ranging up to 16,000 ft. Aided by these high altitudes and the resulting protection from the contact with the modern civilization, the Q’eros live in a relatively pristine isolation.

Day 1:- Cusco - Paucartambo

We  pick you up  from  the hotel early in the morning in order to be transferred to the buses' terminal  where we'll aboard heading for  Paucartambo which is  at  a distance of 110 Km. to the east  from the city of the Cusco. Paucartambo is characterized for being the folkloric county of the Cusco. In the east is located the site where we'll spend our first night, after having visited the main places of this town. (04 hours aprox.).

 
Day 2:- Paucartambo - Chua Chua Day 2:- Paucartambo - Chua Chua

Firstly we take a private transport that will take us to the town of Acllacancha, aprox. 2 hours away. It's in this town that our service personnel will be waiting for us, among them, the muleteers with their mules and horses. Then we will enlist our team and we'll take some views with the  local people and after a rest we'll  begin the walking for about  seven hours, until arriving at the town of Chua Chua. In this journey we will see the spectacular changes on such high areas as the Quechua one, the Puna and also the Janca area, over the mountain range, which has its highest step in the mountain called Pampaccasa (4000 m.). Later, we’ll get along through a   descending path, enjoying with the view of mountains from different colors, after which we’ll arrive to our campsite called Chua Chua. (Walking time 07 hours aprox.).

 
 Day 3:- Chua Chua - Hatun Q'eros Day 3:- Chua Chua - Hatun Q'eros

After a typical breakfast we leave the Puna area going to descend towards the forest high at 2350 m.a.s.l. In the road we’ll see an incredible flora and fauna diversity. We will meet with autochthonous people that still use the millennial knowledge of the fabrics sowing us their products. Later we'll arrive to the Hatun Q'eros, where we will spend the night with the villagers and we will be able to coordinate for making some ceremonies. (06 hours of walk aprox.).

 
 Day 4:- Hatún Q'eros - Willcacuncaccasa. Day 4:- Hatún Q'eros - Willcacuncaccasa.

This day we will go down to the place known as beach where we will have the chance  to enjoy from its clean and transparent waters, a natural site located in the still virgin forest where we'll also be able to fish or take a bath without any danger.
Optional: (we can visit and share with different families).
Already in the afternoon we will be returning and we will walk for 4 hours until the step of Willcacuncasa whose height is 4300 m.a.s.l. In this area with some luck we'll be able to see the biggest bird on the planet, the condor (vulture gryphus). (05 hours aprox.).

 
Day 5:- Willcacuncaccasa - Kallacancha - Paucartambo Day 5:- Willcacuncaccasa - Kallacancha - Paucartambo

After a breakfast we will start walking during 03 hours to the town of  Kallacancha, where we’ll wait for the transport that will take us to the Town of Paucartambo where we will spend the night. (06 aprox).

 
Day 6:- Paucartambo - Cusco Day 6:- Paucartambo - Cusco

After having breakfast we will get ready to take our bus going to the city of the Cusco, arriving about 11AM.

* Igloo tents - 2 persons in each 4-person capacity tent with plenty of space for your backpacks.

* Meals (05B,06L,05D) - food includes pancakes, omelets, soups, fresh fruit, avocado, pasta, chicken, fish, meat, rice, all rich in carbohydrates and suitable for trekking, hot drinks including coca leaf tea which is excellent for the altitude.

* Horses for equipment (to carry the tents, food, and cooking equipment).
* Llamas carrying 5kgr from your personal equipment.
* Dining tent with camp tables and chairs.

* First aid kit including emergency oxygen bottle.
* Return transport to Cusco.

YOU SHOULD BRING:
* A light day pack with a change of clothes for the whole period of the trek - prepare for a vast range of changes in temperature
* Rain gear (jacket and pants if available) or rain poncho.
* Strong footwear, waterproof trekking boots recommended. Extra socks are a must.
* Sandals or plastic slip on thongs are also good to give your feet a chance to breath in the evenings if you wish to carry them.
* Warm clothes, including jacket, fleeces, gloves, scarf and beanie / touk. Thermal clothing is also recommended, especially for sleeping.
* Sleeping bag (we can hire these to you)
* Torch/ Flashlight and spare batteries
* Camera, films and batteries (batteries consume more quickly under cold conditions)
* Hat or cap to protect you from the sun, rain and cold
* Sun block
* After-sun cream or hydrating cream for face and body
* Insect repellent - minimum recommended 20% DEET
* Toilet paper, pack in & pack out
* Snacks: biscuits, energy bars, chocolate, raw fruits, muesli, etc.
* Non-disposable canteen (Nalgene type) and water for the first morning.
* We advise you to bring water sterilizing tablets in case you collect water from streams.
* Your own medical kit with any special medications that you might require, paracetamol, second skin for blisters etc.
* Small towel or sarong
* Original passport & ISIC (International Student Identity Card) if you have one.
* Walking sticks or poles
* Binoculars (if you have them)
